Resume Writing Tip #1

Write resume sentences as sentence fragments which omit the pronoun “I.”
Use Buzzwords Use 'em. There is a reason for them, it makes communication faster. When they appear on a resume they add value review the job description for keywords and apply to your resume.

Resume Writing Tip #2

In any resume, when you are listing activities, job, or education by dates, always list those activities in reverse chronological order (most recent experience first).
Don’t neglect appearance. Your resume is the first impression you’ll make on a potential employer, and a successful resume depends on more than what you say; how you say it counts as well.

Resume Writing Tip #3

Potential employers need to know what you have accomplished to have an idea of what you can do for them.
Don’t be vague. Describe things that can be measured objectively. Describe your skills using action words. For example, “supervised 15 employees on a $3,000,000 contract” is much more powerful than, “was a supervisor of 15 employees for a $3,000,000 contract.”

Resume Writing Tip #4

A resume will flow in this order: Full name, address, and contact information.
Summary of Qualifications. Education and training. Past employers’ names, locations, and dates of employment, with a description of your roles and significant accomplishments on each job.

What are online degree programs, and what can I expect from the experience?

If you’re taking your first look at online education, get ready to be surprised and delighted. The primary benefits of online learning include convenience and flexibility, but there are several other advantages as well. When you earn a degree online, you can choose your start date, study alongside a diverse group of students from around the world, complete your coursework from anywhere, set your own pace, use new technologies, and receive plenty of student support along the way.
Walden University is a top choice for online education. For more than 50 years, Walden has supported working professionals in achieving their academic goals and making a greater impact in their profession and their communities.

What do employers think of online degrees?

Distance learning has been around for decades, and countless professionals have used their online education to excel in their careers. Of course, COVID-19 forced education at all levels online, and as a result, employers will likely see a significant jump in the number of job applicants who have earned or completed a degree online.

Numerous studies have found distance and online learning courses to be as effective as traditional classroom training—or better. Almost a third of academic leaders recently surveyed felt online education outcomes were superior to those in traditional learning environments.

1 Another study found that the majority of employers perceive the quality of degrees earned online to be equal to the quality of those earned at traditional brick-and-mortar institutions.
2 Of course, as with other learning institutions, it is important that an online school is accredited.
